I am pleased to announce that Silver Birch Press has published my poem “Sturbridge, Massachusetts” as part of their “My Perfect Vacation” series. Just follow this link: https://silverbirchpress.wordpress.com/2015/08/02/sturbridge-massachusetts-poem-by-joanne-corey-my-perfect-vacation-series/
As a bonus, there is a photo of B and me cutting our wedding cake, which I scanned from a photo in our wedding album to accompany this poem. It was a spice cake with butter cream frosting, which was an exotic choice back in 1982. It was delicious.
Feel free to comment here or on the Silver Birch Press page – or both!
Congratulations! It was great to see that old photo of you and B cutting your wedding cake. My husband and I had a spice/carrot cake with creamy frosting and went to Key Largo, speaking of simple, low budget honeymoons.

Congratulations on publishing your poem. It is probably old hat to you, but my drawer full of rejection slips and the very rare acceptance remind me how exciting the event is. I like the poem, too.

Thanks! It is not at all old hat to me. I’ve only recently begun to publish, although most of my rejections are on my computer rather than in a drawer. Congratulations on your acceptances, too, and on perseverance in the face of rejection. It is so difficult to find the right match for one’s work, but sometimes lightning does strike.
