It is a tragic loss of friends and neighbours. The shock of it and after Charlie Hebdo, it was just too much to imagine this much coordinating and planning. People are scared and overwhelmed with emotion right now, but we can refuse to let them win.

I am not personally affected, Joanne, but I have friends in Paris and news will trickle in throughout next week. However, I wanted to point out that an event like this affects us on a personal level. That is why I call them friends and neighbours.
