WordPress stats can be weird.
At the moment, for today I have 29 views, 20 visitors, 43 likes, and 3 comments.
It seems strange to have more likes than views.
I’m guessing that means that some of the likes are through the reader or through people who get instant email messages of new posts.
Maybe there are reasons I don’t pay that much attention to my stats page…
When I click the “Like” button in my email notification, it brings me here automatically. So there goes that theory. Could be a reader thing. If your post is short and they can read the whole thing in the reader, they don’t need to visit.

Thanks for the info, Linda. Sometimes, when I click “like” in an email from blogs I follow it brings me to the post with my like already submitted and sometimes I have to click like when I get there and sometimes it doesn’t re-direct at all, so I hadn’t realized which of those I was. I do have it set that my emails include my whole posts. I realize it would drive more traffic to the site if I had it set for just the first few sentences, but it would confuse my 90-year-old dad if I changed it, so I won’t. π I also barely ever look at my reader, so it hadn’t occurred to me how much of the post shows up there. I’m still only marginally competent on the technical aspects of blogging. π

Actually, the reader has changed so that nobody’s post shows up in its entirety. The only thing your setting affects is the emails.

But I’m guessing that people can still like a post from the reader, even if they have only read part of it – or none of it.

Indeed they can. Having said all that, I don’t think the stats are keeping up today. I’ve had more visitors than views on my fiction blog today…

Well, that is totally messed up!

I can’t figure out WP stats either so I try not to pay much attention.

That’s my usual approach. Every once in a while, I fall off the wagon. π

I also don’t think the stats are very accurate but, then again, 75% of all statistics are liesβ¦ Right?

Or is it that 100% of statistics can be used to lie, if one is so inclined? π
